Abstract Gradient Design

Hi, I’m Francis Dylan Collard—an animator, designer, and filmmaker based in Hong Kong. My journey started with a degree in animation from SCAD, but it quickly grew into a love for all kinds of visual creation. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working on everything from short films and music videos to logo design, web design, game assets, performance visuals, and even AI-assisted film projects.

I believe that great work comes from a flexible process. I don’t force projects into a single software or style; instead, I adapt my workflow to fit the unique needs of each client, whether you need a social media cut-down or visuals for a live art exhibit. Let’s make something great together.

GEO-NODE 

This project was a personal challenge I set for myself in Houdini. I wanted to replicate the sand growth effect from Spider-Man 3. To do this I vibe coded a custom tool in DOPs to control my RBDs. Made the environment with Heightfields, and the laser beams and explosions in POPs. After creating all the elements in Houdini I exported as USDs and Alembics to Blender for rendering and compositing. Finishing with color correction in Davinci. 

cubitus x bolero

​This project was made for Patek Philippe's Cubitus launch event in HK, November 2025. Bolero was the second of three performances at the event and I art directed the entire 4 minute performance using particle systems in Houdini. I worked closely with Kaicho of Late Studio HK to handle rendering of the particles, the rendering was done in Blender Cycles.
